4 March 2020 CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 UPDATE
Coronavirus is currently well managed in New Zealand with a single positive case contained and no community spread. New Brighton Health Care is keeping up to date with the latest advice from the Ministry of Health; Canterbury CDHB and Canterbury Primary Response Group. To help keep our community safe we ask patients with any cold or respiratory symptoms to phone the surgery first for advice before booking an appointment. We recommend patients use good hand hygiene and cough techniques and to stay at home if unwell.
For Coronavirus COVID-19 health advice and information updates go to the Ministry of Health website health.govt.nz or contact the Healthline team (for free) on 0800 358 5453 or +64 9 358 5453 for international SIMS.
4 March 2020 FLU VACCINATION UPDATE
Flu vaccination this year is due to start on 1 April but is dependent on the delivery of the flu vaccines. The flu vaccine this year provides protection from four main strains of influenza but does not offer protection from the coronavirus COVID-19. We will be running a number of "Flu Clinics" this year and details will be advised towards the end of March. Please note you are not able to pre-book an appointment for a flu vaccination.
