Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 22 March 2020
This week brings many new experiences for our patients and our staff while New Zealand tries to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community and to protect vulnerable people. Medical Practices have been directed to change the way they manage consultations from tomorrow onwards. We reassure you that all patients will continue to have access to health care.
As of Monday 23 March, Picton Surgery will run predominantly telephone or virtual/video consultations. Some conditions do require face to face consultation and appointments will be available for these patients at the medical practice. If this is clinically indicated, you will be offered appointments after phone triage/virtual consultations. This is a requirement from the Ministry of Health and the Royal College of NZ GP's. We need to protect vulnerable patients and staff.
Extremely important: Only patients with pre-scheduled face to face consult appointments or collecting a prescription are to enter Picton Surgery. Support people are welcome to accompany patients in special circumstances but must phone reception to make prior arrangements.
ONLY TELEPHONE and VIDEO CONSULTATIONS CAN BE BOOKED ONLINE.
For face to face appointments, please ring Picton Surgery 09 534 7176.
Consult charges will remain as standard 15 minute consults or be charged accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation.
